Message	To account for temp changes (although that's not as big of a factor as stretch over time of use). Additionally, a manual tensioner would have a set pivot that wouldn't allow tension to ever be tight enough to snap a cam or tensioner (the stud would make contact with the pivoting fork and stop tension from becoming too tight/loose).
